Employment Investigations

Basic Employment Locate

This is designed for those cases where the other parent is believed to have a conventional job where they receive a paycheck, but for some reason the system has failed to detect it or the job is very new.

Surveillance

When all else fails and you need proof that the other parent is working regularly, we will follow them to work and get you video evidence of them working.  In vocations like roofing, landscaping and construction, many companies pay cash to employees and fail to report income to the government.  The workers tend to move from job to job making a traditional investigation like those above difficult if not impossible.  If the other parent is going so far as to use some one else’s identity or a false social security number to secure employment, surveillance is the only option to get proof that they are working.   In both of these cases, we highly recommend the use of surveillance.

Because each case is unique, we work with our clients to establish the correct approach to the job and establish a budget that works for you. To give you some perspective, we usually recommend three partial days of surveillance to give the judge a true picture of regular vocational activity. We also identify where the work is being done and who else they work with for additional support.

Open Investigation

Each year we encounter several cases where a parent is involved in a complicated scheme to make there income disappear.  When there is a significant amount of money in question, it may be better to have us perform a customized investigation.

Whatever the circumstances of your case, we can help.  Please call us at 903-218-9088 for service.

What about their Assets?

If the other parent has assets, like boats, cars, real estate, snow mobiles, jet skis, etc. registered in their name, your judge has the ability to order the seizure and selling of these goods to provide the money to pay for your child support.  Each judge has differing opinions on what should and should not be done, but they do appreciate to know that they were being lied to by a parent who claims not to have the money to pay for child support while having luxury assets and “living the good life”.  Again, this is something that the Friend of the Court does not have the resources to search for.

Some of the factors that you should consider when selecting one of our services are as follows:

Is the other parent working a normal job and drawing a pay check?
Do they own their own business?
Do they work "under the table"?
Do they work for a relative?

Each of these has a significant impact on the how we approach the case.  Obviously, if the other parent is taking great efforts to avoid paying, the process is more complicated and time consuming for us.

An Employment Investigation Request Form will be required before the job is scheduled to begin.

Important Information about Investigations: Although we are among the best in the industry at what we do and are recognized experts in court, we are not magicians.   We cannot make things exist that don’t.   We cannot always find everything our clients would like within a limited scope job.  Accordingly, we do not guarantee any outcome on any case.
